Edged Out: Exhibition of an art-science collaboration

Ashley Cecil has just completed a six-month residency in the RZ lab and will be exhibiting the results of her time with us at the Frick Environmental Center on June 28, 2018. Ashley’s “Edged Out” exhibition consists of a series of paintings and sculptural works about human influence on nature. The artworks specifically focus on the vulnerable state of amphibians, a modern canary in the coal mine offering us a prophetic glance at what lies ahead for all inhabitants of an ailing environment.

To date, the residency has been or will be featured in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the NPR program Allegheny Front (WESA), the Pittsburgh City Paper, the University of Pittsburgh Magazine, Pittsburgh Magazine, and The Pathologist.

Come see what our lab’s art-science collaboration has to offer and celebrate the talent of Ashley Cecil at the Frick Environmental Center (open June 28 – August 31, 2018)!
